Second business number

A work number
that doesn’t cost you
a second phone.

Keep your own mobile private. The business number lives in an app on the phone you already carry, and everything you send goes out under the business.

01

One handset

The work number runs in an app beside your personal line

02

Business caller ID

Outbound calls and texts show the business number

03

Hand it over

Two devices included, so it stops being only yours

01 / What it already cost you

You gave out your mobile once and it was permanent.

A customer got your number two years ago because it was quicker than setting something up. Now it rings on Sunday, it rings while you are at dinner, and it will keep ringing long after you sell the business or hand the work to somebody else.

Turning the phone off is not an option, because it is also the number your family calls.

A personal number given to customers cannot be taken back. It can only be replaced.

02 / One handset, two lines

Same phone. Different number leaving it.

The business number runs in the Seglo Phone app beside your personal line. Calls and texts you send from it carry the business number, so a customer replying reaches the business, and the number you give friends stays out of it.

Business calls arrive through the app rather than your normal dialler, so you know which line is ringing before you decide to answer.

Silencing work does not silence your own calls, because they are not the same line.

What separates

Your number stays private

Customers never see the mobile number you give friends.

Calls and texts out

Both go out on the business number, from the same phone.

Separate arrival

Business calls come in through the Seglo Phone app, not your dialler.

Handover

Add a second device and someone else can answer the same number.

03 / The part you will want later

The second number is the one you can hand over.

The reason to separate work from personal is not only evenings. It is that a business number somebody else can answer is a business you can step away from.

Two devices are included, so adding the first other person costs nothing more. From there the same number can be shared across up to five devices, and the call and message history belongs to the business rather than to whoever happened to be holding the phone.

Your personal number was never going to be handed to a new employee. A business number is.

Straight answers

About running two numbers on one phone.

Do I need a second phone?
No. The business number runs in an app on the phone you already carry, alongside your personal number. There is no second handset, no second SIM and no second plan.
Will customers see my personal number?
No. Calls and texts you send from the app go out on the business number, and replies come back to the business number.
Can I tell which calls are work?
Yes. Business calls arrive through the Seglo Phone app rather than your normal dialler, so you know which line is ringing before you answer, and you can see who is calling.
Can I stop it ringing after hours without turning my phone off?
The business line is a separate app from your personal line, so silencing work does not silence your own calls. If you run more than one business number, each person also chooses which of them ring their own phone.
What if I later want someone else to answer it too?
Two devices are included in the $79 monthly charge, so a second person can sign in without changing the price. From there it is $29 a month per device, up to five.
Is the number really mine?
Yes. Whether you brought it or took a new one, it belongs to the business, and if you leave Seglo you can transfer it out. Start that within thirty days of closing the account.

Get the work calls off your own number.

What it costs. $149 once to set up, then $79 a month including two devices. Each device after that is $29 a month, up to five. Prices exclude GST, which is shown as its own line on the invoice. Month to month, exit cost nothing, so the least you can spend is $228.

Emergency calls (000, 112, 106). 000 and 112 work from Seglo Phone, and they need power and a working internet connection. In an outage, use a mobile or a fixed line. Emergency services see the service address you have registered, not where the person calling is standing. Always keep another way to reach emergency services. 106 is handled separately and is not carried as a voice call by the app.

Conversation, not campaigns. Your number is for talking to your own customers. Bulk marketing goes out on the platform messaging channel instead, and a number that starts behaving like a broadcast is throttled. That is what keeps it deliverable.
